Installation
The
utility is available from the website or tape and
documentation was easy to follow.
Ease of Use
Simply one command, RTVRPGSRC, F4, fill in the
blanks. If you get lost filling in the five or so
parameters of program, library, source file , library,
and a missing files flag, consult the documentation.
The good torture test came when I dug up an old
RPG program that was compiled circa CPF5 and migrated
from system to system."
Documentation
The booklet that
comes with the tape (or can be downloaded from the
website or faxed) informs you how to install the
software, who to call for the access codes, and
how to invoke the software.
Certifiability
Both the RPG and
DDS routines loaded and performed as expected and
documented.
Functionality/Usefulness
This utility is
for folks who have lost their source and need something
to modify and compile, this should do the trick.
Support
These folks were
great. They had the download run documentation on
my fax machine almost before I hung up.
Summary
I was impressed. Here is a simple utility that will
take my RPG or screens and give some users some
really nice-looking source code to work with. The
user side is almost a no-brainer. But when you are
in pain, you tend to grab for the fastest relief,
and this seems to provide that.
